EVAPORATIVE COOLER PROJECT FOR HAMEEDIA

Hameedia is a garment manufacturer in Sri Lanka having factories as well as sales outlets island wide. Their premium brands are Envoy and Le Bond. Hameedia put up a new factory in the north east region to expand their operation. North East region of Sri Lanka is characterized by high temperature as well as low relative humidity creating ideal conditions for an evaporative cooling system.

Considering all factors (i.e. the no. of workers, machines, lighting, irons etc.) FEPL designed a positive evaporative cooling system for the plant. The temperature inside the factory varied between 27-30C (i.e. after the system) whilst the ambient temperature varied from 33-36C.
